How much does it cost per hour to heat a 4 bed house with gas....?

I am only looking for an approx cost for gas central heating in the UK per hour. I am with Powergen sorry E-on and I want to reduce my bills by tweaking the heating. I live in a four bedroom house and want to keep the temp at 18 degrees.

start the heating up for 20 minutes, then go to the metre with the heating (not hot water) on, and any other appliance on, take a reading, run it for an hour, and take another reading, look at your gas bill and it will give you a cost per kw, or per cubic foot per hour.How much does it cost per hour to heat a 4 bed house with gas....?
If your heat is the only appliance on your gas bill, divide your gas bill each billing period by the number of hours in the billing period. This will give you the average cost per hour. The amount per hour will change throughout the heating season. Consider a programmable thermostat and keep the temperature lower during the sleeping hours. Insulate where possible.
this has alot of factor like how good your window's and door's are from keeping out cold airn you may want too try too re-duce this cost by buying a tube of window sealer at home depot for 2.00 and rechalk all your window's if they are older than 5 yr's old you'd be surprise how much warmer your room's will get at the same temp setting
Depends on your boiler type what windows you have, what type of roof and insulation in your roof and walls. There are many variables.
DO AS 'STITCHED UP' SAID, BUT NOTE, IF ITS A COLDER OUTSIDE, MORE GAS WILL BE USED BECAUSE THE HEAT LOSS WILL BE GREATER. (YOUR HEATING WILL RUN UNTIL THE SET 18 DEGREES IS ACHIEVED.


SO IF ITS 2 DEGREASE OUT SIDE. LESS GAS IS USED TO HEAT UP THE ROOMS TO 18 DEGREES, THAN A TEMPUTER OF -2 DEGREES OUTSIDE.


TO SAVE ENERGY, USE A MULTI ZONE PROGRAMMER WITH WALL STATS AND MOTORISED VALVES FITTED FOR EACH ZONE. SO YOU CAN PROGRAM THE HEATING TO COME ON FOR OCCUPIED ROOMS ONLY. E.G. MORNING THE BEDROOMS ONLY , THEN SAY THE KITCHEN ON, AND BEDROOMS OFF UNTIL NIGHT. LIVING ROOM / DINING ROOMS COME ON IN THE EVENING ETC, ETC.


THOUGH ITS EXPENSIVE TO RETRO INSTALL.
