gas,water,electricity, nevermind council tax .
we are busy busy people so wont be in muchHow much will utility bills cost for a 2 bed house in the UK ?
That depends on many factors.
Is it a terraced house? Because they are generally warmer due to the neighbouring houses warming two sides of your place.
Are the windows double glazed? Is there decent insulation in the loft?
Gas can usually cost anything from around 拢30 - 拢150 or more a month depending on the energy efficiency of the house and how warm you like it.
Electricity is anything from 拢20 - 拢50 or so a month. You should make sure that every single lightbulb in the property is energy efficient (saves a bloody fortune) and turn everything off at the plug whenever you are not using it.
Water depends on whether you have a meter fitted and how much you use. United utilities (North West England) for example charge maybe 拢300 a year? - or at least this was how much I used to pay years ago - if you are not on a meter.
Council tax varies from area to area. Go to your local council website, type in the postcode of the house and find out which band it is. A two bwed terraced is probably the cheapest, an A. The website will tell you how much the yearly bill will be.
Don't forget the other bills you'll most likely face. TV License at around 拢13 a month. Contents insurance (A MUST HAVE!) for around 拢10 a month, internet, telephone and maybe even Sky tv?
