Dear sir after getting approval from the council to convert out old 3 bed house into 2 flats the work is?

now almost completed.

Unfortunately the surveyors from the council dont have the knowledge of what the regulations are and so i am suffering a delay in selling the flats. Most of the guys comming down are outrighly racist about our development and jelous of the money we will be making in the conversion. So now i have been asked to bring a certificate of the original installation and verify the electrical installation of the original house which was built in 1920's? is this a requirement?

ANY one can HELP PLSEEEEEEEEEEEEDear sir after getting approval from the council to convert out old 3 bed house into 2 flats the work is?
I think you have misunderstood the requirements. Any house that is using electrical installations from the 1920s won't be able to buy an electrical plug (3-point round pins in those days in the UK) and would be a complete fire hazard. There weren't certificates in the 1920s.

What they want is an electrical certificate for the conversion, obviously if it has been split into 2 flats then there must now be two electrical supplies into the premises - so probably complete rewiring has been undertaken - if it hasn't then you won't get a certificate.

It is that new rewiring that requires certification. I really can't understand how somebody from Building Control from your council doesn't understand that.
