Me & 4 kids live in a 2 bed house. i got ants everywhere what do i do ive tried evrything.?

its getting to the point where not a day goes by that one of us hasnt been bitten. local council wontr move me cause i have rent arrears (only 100 pounds) my health visitor wont help either. what do i doMe %26amp; 4 kids live in a 2 bed house. i got ants everywhere what do i do ive tried evrything.?
I totally agree with iposhrat!

If you owed thousands in rent arrears, they still have an obligation to deal with infestations. Have a look through your tenancy agreement and if you don't have one, ask for a copy at the offices. Surprising what their obligations are to you......DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!!

If you have 4 kids, why are you in a 2 bedroom house? Serious question.Me %26amp; 4 kids live in a 2 bed house. i got ants everywhere what do i do ive tried evrything.?
Threaten to sue the council as your kids are having nightmares. This is disrupting their school work and making life unbearable as they are also refusing to eat food because of the ants.

Not really but they don't have to know that.

They will then sort the problem out.

If they don't go to the papers.

Get some dead cockroaches from a pet shop just to add extra weight.

拢100 rent arrears. They are taken the pith. The council are just controlling bar stewards.

They are OUR servants get them to do their job.

Name them.
find the nest and use lots of boiling water this kills the eggs also you can get this gel from diy stores that ants love but its deadly to them hahaha make sure there are not lots of crumbs or sweet things lying around for ants to feed on.
the way to kill ants is with bleach or charcoal fluid but i dont think u wanna put the lighter fluid in your house so use bleach to wipe down where they are at and then pinesol afterwards to get rid of the smell!!! good luck..
Buy an aerosol can of fly killer and find the trail they are coming in. Spray as much of the trail as you can follow
contact your landlord and if he doesn't do anything you are going to have to call a professional [most store bought products don't work] its going to cost a lot but thats the only way.
If you are working, go to a store and buy a indoor pesticide for ants, spray it on all the baseboards, behind the toilet, clean out under the counters and empty out the food cubards, spray inside them, around the sink pipes, ants love water, even if you haven't seen an ant in a room spray around the floor. While you are spraying though please make sure someone is watching the children they cannot be around it for at least an hour. Pets too if you have any.
bitten? some produce an irritant, at least the domestic uk species do, so where are you?

if it's a non domestic species the government dept responsible will want to hear. look at http://www.defra.gov.uk/pests and have a butchers ;)
Put the kids by the door and they will bite

the kid and not you
Not sure if you have this product over there but try using Castle Soap. Read the instructions on the bottle. You mix it with water and pour it around the outside of the house. They don't like to cross it.

Also, you can try bleach water too.

Make sure your house isn't damp anywhere because if they are carpenter ants, that is their food.

You didn't say what kind of ants but if they are red ants, you have to kill the nest by pouring bleach water into it but only after you treated around your houses edge so they don't move in.

Good Luck!
Have you tried bleach? It's the only thing that worked for me. Tried exterminators, etc... they just moved to another location. Bleach seems to keep them out for good.
Get your local council to remove the ants, they will do that if you have young children, you can also contact environmental health who will force the council to tackle the problem but I think the council will do it once you mention calling in environmental health, the number will be in your local phone book
Go to a hardware store or walmart and ask for a white powder called Borax. Spread the borax around near the back of cabinets and around the floor boards at the base of the walls. Under the refrigerator and stove. Just leave it there for a month or so and see if your ants disappear. It worked for me.
I have had an ant problem too and I called an exterminator. He told me he wouldn't want to spray because I had two young children. What he did tell me to do is use ordinary dish soap - try to find where they are coming in and put a barrier of dish soap around - they can't get past it and if they get caught in it they drown. Good luck ~
call the exterminator
Write a recipe book '101 tasty ant dishes for the family'. Eating these insects will not only save you money ordinarily spent on food and reduce the number of bites you and your children recieve, but the royalties could enable you to buy your own ant free home too.
It's only ants, there so many very effective ant killer sprays you can buy, they're very cheap and it does work I can tell you, keeps them away for weeks once sprayed around the 'affected areas' of the house!!
i know this may sound wierd but a old remedy was to use red cayenne pepper and the ants will not come into the house.. you need to kind of know where they are coming in at and put the pepper all around the areas...you have tried ant spray and have you talked to a exterminater??? hope this helps
i have a solution and this may already be an answer but get you some boric acid powder, i use that in my home and we are bug free knock on wood
Have you sprayed the foundation on the outside of the house? Also, you can try cucumber peels (believe it or not) and coffee grounds. Both discourage ants. Additionally, because you have such an issue, I would place ant cup strategically (under the fridge, near ANY source of water, etc.) Good luck!
tell your landlord to do something or move out!
Pesticides tend to be dangerous. Boric acid works. Follow their trail and hit their source.Try extra clean habits, no garbage, dirty dishes and such. Put shelved foods in sealed glass containers Good luck. I believe you will be sucessful.
For a start you must have food around on floors/surfaces. Ants come in your house for that reason only. I'm not saying you're not hygenic but give the house a good clean down and hoover everyday especially with four kids dropping crumbs on the floor etc. Give your cupboards a wipe down inside too as any sugar/food deposits will attract them too. By the way if you're in arrears with your rent how can you afford a computer and run the internet?! Oops there I go again...
The only thing I've tried that really works is Nippon liquid, especially if you add a drop of cola. They go nuts for it, then after a couple of days they're gone. But you have to keep using it because more show up as they hatch out. The active ingrediant is Borax, which you can get from some shops to act as a flame retardent in fabrics, so I guess you can make own, just add sugar and cola.

I read someone elses suggestion that biological washing powder also works. Put it where they walk.

Another thing they don't like is ground cloves and orange oil, stuff some down the holes where they come out.

Ants get around by following scent trails so washing the floor and surfaces with something like Dettox fridge cleaner annoys them.

If you can find the nests outside the house pour boiling water over them.

Remember to keep poisons away from the kids and tell them not to taste them. You just have to keep at it, mine come back year after year, but they haven't been so bad this year so maybe I'm getting somewhere.
There is food on the floor somewhere in your house, take room by room everything out, and clean the floors!! If that doesn't help get your rent up to date and get moved.
EASY try to find the holes where they are coming from .Then put some flour at the front of the holes and provide water aswell when they eat the flour the will be looking for water after drinking water the flour will become wet and when it dry it will remain in the stomoch so they wont come out from the holes cuz ants come out only when they are hungry
Eat out.
With it being summer and hot out. There just trying to find a temp. place till summer is over. Don't need to worry. But if there really bad, get some RAID BUG SPRAY.
Sprinkle talcum powder where the ants are coming in - it will stop them!
buy ant traps from a diy shop and sprinkle salt, ants usually go were there is food, check there is no open packets of food lying around, they usually take food back to there nests,i had the problem and now they are gone
There is something caller terro. It is in a small bottle and you can buy it at walmart. Place a few drops on pieces of cardboard or wax paper. The ants eat it and take it back ';home';. After a day or two they will be gone... and the bottle lasts a really long time!
