You only qualify for a 2 bedroom because that is all you need for your sized family. They will not allow you to have a 3 bedroom. The 3 bedrooms will be give to larger families who need them.Getting housing benefit for a 2 bed house will we get it if we moved to a 3 bed house?
I live in Scotland so don't know if the same rule applies where you are but here you get a supplement charge taken off your benefit for every extra room you have that you don't need. I used to live in a two bedroom house but as i was on my own they took off 拢22 per week as a supplement for the extra room, i have now moved into a one bedroom house that costs the same amount of rent as the last one but as i don't have the extra room supplement i get full benefit. You should still get benefits but they will take a small amount off you for the extra room.
In simple terms, yes you would still get housing benefit. It the 3 bed is worth the same as the 2 bed, you would get the full amount paid for. If it costs a little bit extra, you have to make the difference up. Speak to the CAB for more details.

[EDIT] This is for a housing association house, not a council house. You would not be given a 3 bedroom council house.
Yes you would still get housing benefit. Its worked out on your household type, income and rent paid. You would need to inform the local authority of your change of residence in advance.
I don't see why not as long as you let them know then they can decide if they want to evaluate it and give you what they thinks it's worth
Housing benefit from what? Section 8?
